The United States is the richest nation in the world,
  • yet 13% of our population lives in poverty
  • and 40% of our population is at risk of needing food resources.

Iowa is the heart of America’s bread basket,
  • yet 65,000 Iowans do not have enough food.

North Liberty is a prosperous and growing community.
  • Our population has increased from 5400 to 8800 in the last 6 years,
  • yet over 500 of our neighbors are living in poverty.

  • We have 2 new schools and 40 new businesses,

North Liberty is a prosperous and growing community.
  • Over half the families we serve have at least one person working,
  • but 90% have incomes of less than $20,000 a year.

Even families who qualify for government supports do not receive enough resources for
  • food,

When families have limited incomes, they must make hard choices.
  • In order to pay for

Bumps in the road such as
  • car repairs,

Humans’ most basic needs include food and clothing.
  • When these needs are unmet stress increases which causes more

Children who do not have food and clothing
  • have poor health,

Many in our community are unaware of the needs of their neighbors.

Yet it would take over 113,000 pounds of food each year to meet the food needs of people living in poverty in North Liberty.

The North Liberty Community Food and Clothing Pantry distributes over
4000 pounds of food each month.

The Pantry distributes over 400 pieces of clothing each month to help meet these gaps.

As we serve the community, The Pantry provides opportunities for adults and youth to get to know families in need.

Our 60 regular volunteers contribute over 400 hours each month.
